Reliance Medical Group is proud to spearhead a pioneering hemp farming initiative in Tzaneen. This project is more than just agriculture—it’s a model for sustainable development and community upliftment.

Starting with one hectare, the farm is set to expand to five hectares within three years, with the potential for even greater growth. Beyond its commercial value, hemp is a versatile crop with applications in medicine, textiles, and eco-friendly products. By tapping into this market, Reliance Medical Group is creating jobs, driving local income, and promoting sustainable farming practices.

The project also collaborates with Tshwane University’s Pharmacy Department to research hemp-based medicinal products. This partnership ensures that the farm’s impact goes beyond the fields—contributing to health innovation across South Africa.

Through the support of the Next-gen Foundation, part of the farm’s proceeds will also fund digital literacy labs, providing rural youth with access to internet and training. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change: healthier communities, empowered youth, and a more sustainable future.
